Non possiamo che ringraziare Seba per aver reso il nostro matrimonio indimenticabile! Fin dal primo incontro, abbiamo sentito subito che avremmo fatto la scelta giusta. Seba è stato professionale, ma soprattutto è riuscito a leggere perfettamente l’atmosfera e a scegliere la musica giusta in ogni momento. Stavamo cercando con un preavviso relativamente breve un DJ che parlasse un inglese decente per il nostro matrimonio multilingue. Sebastiano si è mostrato molto simpatico e flessibile durante la nostra prima videochiamata e ci ha persino offerto una registrazione della cerimonia con la sua telecamera come regalo. Ci ha anche detto che aveva un proiettore che poteva portare per noi da usare per i giochi. Quindi abbiamo deciso di assumerlo. Non eravamo molto preparati con i nostri desideri musicali, ma è stato in grado di dare buoni suggerimenti anche con un preavviso breve.
Purtroppo, questo è tutto ciò che di positivo abbiamo da dire su di lui. Cominciamo dall'inizio.
Avevamo chiesto a Sebastiano di arrivare prima dei nostri ospiti al matrimonio in modo che potesse già mettere un po' di musica di sottofondo mentre lo sposo salutava tutti. Tuttavia, si è presentato solo 30 minuti prima della cerimonia, quando i primi ospiti erano già arrivati e doveva ancora preparare la sua attrezzatura. Quindi è stato pronto appena in tempo per la cerimonia (perché ero un po' in ritardo con la mia preparazione).
Uno dei momenti per cui abbiamo richiesto una canzone specifica è stato il nostro primo bacio e l'uscita dalla cerimonia. Abbiamo chiesto a Sebastiano di far partire la canzone quando l'officiante ha detto le tipiche parole "Ora puoi baciare la sposa", così la musica sarebbe partita poco prima del bacio. Tuttavia, Sebastiano deve essersene completamente dimenticato perché non era pronto a suonare la musica fino a quando il bacio non fosse finito. Abbiamo aspettato circa 10 secondi in imbarazzato silenzio che la musica iniziasse prima di iniziare a camminare e solo allora è sembrato ricordarsi che avrebbe dovuto suonare una canzone.
Durante il nostro scambio iniziale, Sebastiano ci aveva detto di dargli due playlist come punti di partenza per lui. Una per la musica di sottofondo durante il ricevimento e il pranzo e una per il ballo più tardi. Ha usato la playlist per la musica di sottofondo, cosa di cui siamo stati contenti. Tuttavia, sembrava che in realtà non avesse aggiunto molta altra musica a quella playlist, perché durante il pranzo sono state ripetute più canzoni.
Poi, c'è stata una dimostrazione incredibile di quanto sia poco professionale. La musica era relativamente bassa durante il pranzo, quindi fortunatamente non tutti se ne sono accorti. Ma gli ospiti seduti vicino agli altoparlanti ci hanno detto che potevano sentire le notifiche del telefono attraverso di essi e a volte la musica di TikTok o Reels o qualcosa del genere. Sappiamo che riprodurre musica di sottofondo non è molto impegnativo, ma come minimo ci si aspetterebbe che il telefono non fosse collegato agli altoparlanti.
Mentre il pranzo stava per finire, volevamo usare il proiettore di Sebastiano per i giochi che avevamo pianificato. Ma sfortunatamente, per qualche motivo non è riuscito ad aprire i file che erano stati portati su una chiavetta USB, nonostante funzionassero bene sui nostri dispositivi privati.
Il problema successivo si è presentato quando ho lanciato il mio bouquet. Sebastiano avrebbe dovuto suonare una canzone (che per fortuna ha suggerito con breve preavviso) ma anche quando stavo chiaramente per lanciarla, non ha iniziato. Solo dopo che il bouquet è stato preso e anche 10 secondi dopo ha iniziato a suonare quella canzone. Il tempismo non è il suo forte.
Dopo di che, è iniziata la parte danzante della serata. Nonostante la playlist che gli avevamo dato per farsi un'idea dei nostri gusti musicali, ha suonato molta musica molto diversa. A un certo punto ha suonato tre o più canzoni di seguito di musica spagnola/sudamericana, che non era quello che volevamo. Quando mi sono avvicinato a lui per chiedergli se poteva suonare di nuovo musica diversa, prima mi ha ignorato per mezzo minuto e poi ha detto di sì, ma in realtà non ha cambiato stile per altre canzoni.
E la parte peggiore è arrivata alla fine...
Sebastiano ha staccato la spina alle 19:30 senza preavviso, anche senza un'ultima canzone o la musica che sfumava. Ha letteralmente staccato la spina.
Sfortunatamente, non eravamo effettivamente nella stanza quando l'ha fatto perché stavamo scattando delle foto fuori, quindi non potevamo fermarlo e dirgli di continuare (per straordinari pagati, ovviamente). Invece, quando siamo tornati dentro, era quasi tutto già pronto e non c'era modo di tornare indietro. Quando l'abbiamo affrontato, ha affermato che il proprietario del locale gli aveva detto che il tempo era scaduto. Tuttavia, quando glielo abbiamo chiesto, ha confermato che ci avrebbe lasciato continuare fino alle 4 del mattino, come previsto dal nostro contratto.
Qui, dobbiamo ammettere che non abbiamo discusso molto chiaramente la fine. Sebastiano ci ha detto che il suo servizio di nozze dura solitamente tra le 8 e le 9 ore. Non abbiamo parlato di straordinari pagati, ma abbiamo semplicemente dato per scontato che avremmo trovato una soluzione quando necessario. Questo è stato un errore enorme. Dopo 8,5 ore (dopo essere arrivato un'ora dopo l'accordo) Sebastiano ha deciso che poteva semplicemente prendere la decisione da solo, ma poi dare la colpa a qualcun altro. Il fatto che non abbia nemmeno fatto sfumare la musica ci ha lasciato senza parole. Questo è un comportamento inaccettabile. Sebastiano manca di professionalità sotto ogni aspetto.
Ultimo ma non meno importante, il video "regalo". Questo è stato il punto di svolta per la nostra decisione su quale DJ scegliere, quindi era molto importante per noi. Durante la cerimonia Sebastiano ha avuto un piccolo incidente con la telecamera, il treppiede è caduto perché ci stava armeggiando troppo. All'epoca pensavamo ancora che fosse un piccolo incidente divertente e che avremmo fatto un video divertente, quindi non vedevamo l'ora di vederlo.
Una settimana dopo il matrimonio, Sebastiano ci ha contattato per il video e ci ha anche chiesto una recensione del suo servizio. All'inizio, ha insistito per ottenere la recensione prima di inviarci il video, ma speravamo che il video potesse migliorare un po' la nostra recensione, quindi abbiamo insistito per ottenere prima il video. Ora ce l'ha inviato, ma sfortunatamente la qualità è piuttosto scarsa e ha tagliato quella parte divertente della telecamera che cade. Ora c'è un taglio e un'interruzione di frase davvero evidenti.
Tutto sommato, assumere Sebastiano è stato l'unico errore che abbiamo fatto per il nostro matrimonio. Speriamo che questa recensione possa impedire ad altre coppie di commettere lo stesso errore e invece investire in un DJ più professionale.

We were looking relatively short notice for a DJ who speaks decent english for our multilingual wedding. Sebastiano appeared very simpatico and flexible during our first video call and even offered us a recording of the ceremony with his camera as a gift. He also told us he had a projector he could bring for us to use for games. Therefore we decided to hire him. We were not very prepared with our music wishes but he was able to make good suggestions even short notice.
Unfortunately, that is everything positive we have to say about him. Let's start from the beginning.
We had asked Sebastiano to arrive before our guests at the wedding so he could already play some background music while the groom was greeting everyone. However, he only showed up 30 min before the ceremony, when the first guests were already there and he still had to set up his equipment. So he was ready barely in time for the ceremony (because I was a bit late with my getting ready).
One of the moments we requested a specific song for was our first kiss and exit from the ceremony. We instructed Sebastiano to start the song when the officiant said the typical words "You may now kiss the bride" so the music would set in shortly before the kiss. However, Sebastiano must have completely forgotten about this because he wasn't ready to play music even until after the kiss had finished. We were waiting 10 or so seconds in awkward silence for the music to start before we just started walking and only then he seemed to remember that he was supposed to play a song.
During our initial exchange Sebastiano had told us to give him two playlists as starting points for him. One for the background music during reception and lunch and one for the dancing later. He did use the playlist for the background music which we were happy about. However, it sounded like he did actually not add much more music to that playlist, because multiple songs were repeated during lunch.
Then, there was an unbelievable display of how unprofessional he is. The music was relatively quiet during lunch so luckily not everyone noticed. But guests who were sitting close to the speakers told us that they could hear phone notifications through them and sometimes the music of TikToks or Reels or so. We understand that playing background music isn't very challenging, but at the very least one would expect that the phone is then not connected to the speakers.
While lunch was coming to an end, we wanted to use Sebastiano's projector for games we planned. But unfortunately, he was not able to open the files that were brought on a USB stick for some reason despite them working fine on our private devices.
Next issue arose when I threw my bouquet. Sebastiano was supposed to play a song (that he thankfully suggested short notice) but even when I was clearly about to throw it, he didn't start. Only after the bouquet was caught and even 10 seconds later he started playing that song. Timing is not his strong suit.
After that, the dance part of the evening started. Despite the playlist we gave him to have an idea about our music taste, he played a lot of very different music. At some point he played three or so songs in a row of spanish/south american music which is not what we wanted. When I walked up to him to ask if he could play different music again, he first ignored me for half a minute and then said yes but didn't actually change the style for a few more songs.
And the very worst part came at the end...
Sebastiano pulled the plug right at 19:30 without warning, even without a last song or the music fading out. He literally just pulled the plug.
Unfortunately, we weren't actually in the room when he did that because we were taking pictures outside so we couldn't stop him and tell him to continue (for paid overtime of course). Instead, when we came back in, he was almost all packed up already and there was no going back. When confronted, he claimed the owner of the location had told him the time was up. However when we asked her about it, she confirmed that she would've let us continue until 4 in the morning as our contract said.
Here, we have to admit that we didn't discuss the end very clearly. Sebastiano told us his wedding service usually lasts between 8-9h. We did not talk about paid overtime but just assumed that we would find a solution when necessary. This was a huge mistake. After 8.5h (after having arrived an hour later than agreed) Sebastiano decided he could just make the decision by himself but then blame someone else. The fact that he didn't even fade out the music is mindblowing to us. This is unacceptable behavior. Sebastiano lacks professionality in every regard.
Last but not least the "gifted" video. This had been the tipping point for our decision of which DJ to choose, so it was quite important to us. During the ceremony Sebastiano had a little mishap with the camera where the tripod fell over because he was fiddling with it too much. At the time we still thought it was a funny little accident and would give a funny video, so we looked forward to seeing that.
A week after the wedding, Sebastiano reached out to us about the video and also asked for a review of his service. At first, he insisted on getting the review before sending us the video but we hoped that the video could make our review a bit better so we insisted on getting the video first. Now he did sent it to us, but unfortunately the quality is rather poor and he cut out that funny part of the camera falling. Now there is a really noticeable cut and interruption of a sentence.
All in all hiring Sebastiano was the one mistake we made for our wedding. Hopefully this review can prevent other couples from making the same mistake and instead invest in a more professional DJ.
